2026 Happy Birthday, Your Majesty, Birth Anniversary

On this most joyous and auspicious occasion of His Majesty’s Birth Anniversary, the Seven-Day Kanjur (Buddhist Canon) recitation commenced today at Dongak Kunzang Choeling Monastery in Serzhong, Gelephu. This sacred offering is dedicated to His Majesty’s good health, long life, and the continued success of His Majesty’s noble Vision of Gelephu Mindfulness City.
Each year, in deep gratitude and devotion, we recite the Kanjur to celebrate His Majesty’s birthday — praying for the flourishing of the Kingdom and the everlasting well-being of our beloved King.
The opening of this year’s Kanjur recitation, held in honor of His Majesty’s birthday, was joined by the Gup, Mangmi, Tshogpa, and the people of Ngoba Village in Paro.
His Eminence Trulku Thubten Tenpei Seljed is presiding over the recitation, together with Khenpos, Lopons, and approximately 116 monks.
