On the auspicious occasion of Losar, the Serzhong monastery commenced the day with an early morning smoke offering (sang) to the Three Jewels — Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha — as well as to the local deities, invoking blessings for the year ahead.
The celebrations were graced by the presence of His Eminence Khentrul Thokmeth Rinpoche, His Eminence Trulku Ugyen Sherub Yoezer, His Eminence Trulku Thubten Tenpai Seljed, alongside the esteemed Khenpos, Lopens, monks, nuns, and the elderly residents of the monastery’s old age home.
In a heartfelt expression of devotion and gratitude, the monastic body offered a Ku Sung Thukten Mendrel to His Eminence Khentrul Thokmeth Rinpoche, praying for Rinpoche’s long life, good health, and continued guidance for the benefit of all sentient beings.
Following the offering, a communal lunch was shared, during which His Eminence Khentrul Thokmeth Rinpoche bestowed a set of monk robes upon the Trulkus, Khenpos, Lopens, monks, nuns, and elderly residents — extending blessings and well wishes for the Lunar New Year.
As we conclude this joyous occasion, we sincerely pray for the opportunity to gather again next Losar in good health and harmony. May this new year bring peace, prosperity, and spiritual growth to all beings.
